We are an international, non-profit organization that uses the power of play to form better citizens from childhood.
Our programs are designed for children between 6 and 12 years old and for teenagers between 13 and 15 years old. In the United States we operate in public, private, and charter schools, after school programs and summer camps.
We train teachers with innovative pedagogical skills and provide guidance throughout our programs to generate an impact that transcends the classroom. Teachers adopt the E4S methodology, experience it with their students and see the transformation in the students’ behavior.
During the school year, teachers, parents, and children become aware of global challenges and the important role we all play within our communities in proposing effective solutions to these challenges.
Working with creative leaders, strategic partners, and the entire community, we create safe educational spaces where children are able to reach their full potential. Students discover skills that empower them to become agents of social change and respond to global challenges by acting in their local communities.
Our organization was founded in 2007 by Mexican social entrepreneurs Dina Buchbinder and Yizreel Urquijo after their experience with the Ship for World Youth.
They were inspired by an educational program in Canada called Sport in a Box to create Sports for Sharing. Yizreel and Dina were convinced that play is fundamental in forming better citizens from childhood.
Sports for Sharing began operations in three states of Mexico: Chihuahua, Mexico City, and Yucatán.
After three years of benefiting thousands of children, our organization grew to create the program Initiatives for Sharing. Initiatives for Sharing gives students the tools to solve problems they identify in their community.
Because of our programs success in Mexico, Sports for Sharing decided to begin serving students internationally. In 2012, our organization expanded to the United States, and later in Argentina, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.
With the organization’s growth and desire to stay at the forefront of the education field, we changed our name to Education for Sharing, in 2015 with the same mission of forming better citizens from childhood through innovative programs based on the power of play.
We have also added two new programs: Science for Sharing and Art for Sharing that use the areas of science and art to foster personal development in our students.
